Best of luck to the Maps of Norway tonight as well, of course!

I would have gone, but my family is, like...nuts.
Plus until I sell these:

I'm kinda broke.
Are my prices great? Nah, but I know two things: they work perfectly, and I have great customer service policies.

Geza T (The GZeus), Saturday, 9 December 2006 01:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Your auctions look great, but I have no clue about prices (soooo not my area).

I'm waiting with bated breath to hear about Dan's house party gig last night!

HOW DO I SHOT 5:30 AM

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Saturday, 9 December 2006 18:25 (seventeen years ago) link

Well, then! That sounds successful. I think...

I am now on a mad mission to find that photo I told you about in my email. I can't find the album it's in. But I know it's here somewhere!

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Saturday, 9 December 2006 18:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I try to amke good aution-ness.
The problem with me doing an electronics auction is electronics work one way.
All I can talk about is what's wrong with it, then say "everything else works correctly"
if it doesn't work right, it basically doesn't WORk...

Geza T (The GZeus), Saturday, 9 December 2006 18:32 (seventeen years ago) link

if it doesn't work right, it basically doesn't WORk...

There's my problem with electronics, right there! Cuz I'm too clueless to figure out fixes.

Dan, I found the picture. It's... uh... contrast-y.

I decorated one of our CACTUSES yesterday. It's actually kind of sad looking 'cause he's a little guy and the ornaments are a bit too much. I'll post a picture when I put some more presents under it.

Today's my birfday and I'm in a suprisingly good mood. I think it might just be the coffee though since I'm normally debbie downer about celebratory type things.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Monday, 11 December 2006 14:25 (seventeen years ago) link

Happy birthday Sam! I hope it continues to be a good day for you. :)

I can't wait to see your Christmas cactus!

Yes - THANK YOU! The great part is that she lives really close to me. Also, she teaches at the School for the Deaf, which I kind of worship her for. At any rate, we exchanged emails yesterday...

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Monday, 11 December 2006 16:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Dan, are you aware of the Showtime series Dexter? (Apparently it is based on a series of books...)

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Monday, 11 December 2006 16:53 (seventeen years ago) link

Yes, I am! I haven't seen it yet but I know about it. I am kind of psyched that my self-chosen high school nickname is now associated with a fictional serial killer.

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Monday, 11 December 2006 18:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Ha, yeah. I read a review of the series in The New Yorker and immediately thought of you!

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Monday, 11 December 2006 19:08 (seventeen years ago) link

I am really really really really really trying to be virtuous and study. I am not succeeding.

Dan, I don't suppose we can dress you up like me and have you take my test tomorrow night. Someone might catch on, huh.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:01 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, esp. when you fail it horrifically because all of the questions have been answered "BOOOBIES! hahahahahahaha"

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Well, that might be the right answer on one or two questions, I guess. (I think my prof might be looking for "breast," though... it's important to use proper terms in this class.)

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:04 (seventeen years ago) link

all day, in between working on my dumb php/mysql issue, I've been trying to find this hat for G. It's a black-on-black Texas hat we saw Bun B wearing on 106&Park. He's talked about it constantly since then but I can't find it anywhere, only one with a Bevo head. grrr! why must Tuesday be so frustrating?

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

I hate trying to find things like that... good luck. (Although I have to tell you that my husband had a favorite hat - it was just a baseball cap - that he lost. I went out of my way and located another one. He lost that one, too! He is not getting more hats from me.)

Tuesday is frustrating. You're right. Why isn't it Friday yet.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:10 (seventeen years ago) link

G also loses hats. But I would like for him to unwrap this one so I could be the MOST AWESOME XMAS GIFT FINDER EVAH! *sniff*

Tues. esp sux b/c yesterday was happy birthday funday and now it's back to regular programming. bah.

I've given up on both frustrations and am now playing bookworm.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:43 (seventeen years ago) link

I want to play bookworm! (I just wrested the book about the Julie/Julia Project away from my best friend. I loved that blog...)

Sam, does it help your post-birthday let-down to have the holidays coming up, or does that make it worse?

As for the hat, I meant to amaze A. by giving it to him as a Father's Day present, but that was the day I fell and broke my wrist and shattered my elbow, so he didn't get it until I was out of the hospital. I think that kind of ruined the impact of "what a cool present!"

Just remember the immortal advice from War of the Roses: cat people should marry cat people, and dog people should marry dog people.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 03:38 (seventeen years ago) link

what if your both?

Sara, my birthday generally gets lost in the xmas rush. but then I don't know any different really.

wed. be boring.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 14:29 (seventeen years ago) link

If you're both, you can marry anybody. As long as they aren't, say, iguana people. I really recommend staying away from them.

I'm sorry your birthday gets lost in the Xmas rush, Sam. I know several people with the same problem. My SIL's birthday is the 26th of this month, and we try to make a big deal of it, but...

My Wednesday will involve last minute studying for tonight's final; afterward my class is going out together. I have some crazy test anxiety going on; I've had some weird dreams the last two nights. (Including one where I was trying to get into the high school scene shop door and M1k3 H0pk1ns was there. He apologized to me for "carrots." No idea what that means. The rest of the dreams were even weirder.)

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 16:50 (seventeen years ago) link

iguana people. I really recommend staying away from them.

I used to own an iguana *sniff*. He ran away when we were moving into our house and G. won't let me get another b/c he shit everywhere.

I'm def. a cat person but love our doggies too.

I've also been having very vivid dreams lately too. Is it something cosmic going on?

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 16:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Aw, poor iguana. But he does sound like he was kind of a disastrous house pet.

I'm a cat person; although I like dogs, I find them kind of overwhelming. My husband is both, but he's also allergic to dogs. Plus just keeping up with the two cats and the kids is more than we can handle!

Hmmm, vivid dreams. Maybe it's the MOON.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 17:07 (seventeen years ago) link

the iguana was a trip. I got him accidentally off a student who was feeding him iceberg lettuce.

They are a pain to own. High-maintence diet and special lighting needs. And mine hated me. Always scratching and biting. Liked G better. Little bastard.

His name was Chingy. When I first got him an Ilx0r made a good but frightening photoshop of his namesake with a lizard face. I think it got lost when my computer crashed.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 17:09 (seventeen years ago) link

You are not convincing me that people should marry iguana owners! On the other hand, they do sound crazily entertaining.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 17:11 (seventeen years ago) link

I was not a true reptile person as I said I stumbled into the ownership. (and obv. I was not a very good one.) I'm not sure what herpiphiles (?) might be like. Probably like renassaince fairs.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 17:23 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm not sure I've ever met one myself. My SIL's husband used to try to persuade her that they should get one. He's funny, but incredibly prickly. He once complained about Renaissance Fairs not being enough like the actual Renaissance.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 17:45 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm not sure I've ever met one myself.

Yes you have! L34h H3b3rt and N4t4l13 L0v3j0y, for starters!

S-K-I-L-L-S

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 18:49 (seventeen years ago) link

More precision, plz.

I think everyone knows that my secret to appearing to have a great memory is that I write a lot of shit down. That combined with some degree of photographic memory.

My memories of L34h have nothing to do with iguanas at all. Probably because she was - of course - in dance with me.

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 18:50 (seventeen years ago) link

Strongest memory of L.H.: This must have been my junior/L34h's sophomore year, because that was the year we did Les Sylphides. We had these tiny white leotard costumes with spaghetti straps; there was no real way to wear a bra underneath them. L34h came out of the girl's dressing room and into the makeup room and announced, "What is the first thing you see in this costume? NIPS!!!"

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

I only like pets that can be used as food if the need arises. Thus, iguanas are a poor option. Before Jaymcdan provides information about the pet tarantula at my family estate, that belonged to my father.

John Justen wishes you all waterfalls of poppage. (John Justen), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 19:29 (seventeen years ago) link

What John isn't saying: he ate the tarantula as a midnight snack, thinking it was a cookie. Not to worry, his father forgave him. Eventually.

(Also, that tarantula lived in your room, John. You can't deny that Muffin was yours!)

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 19:39 (seventeen years ago) link

Her name was Winnie, named after my paternal grandmother. Dad and her didn't really get along.

John Justen is interested in eating your pet. (John Justen), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 19:42 (seventeen years ago) link

tasty iguana

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 19:43 (seventeen years ago) link

L34h didn't have an iguana; she had a boa constrictor. Still a reptile, though. She also had a ferret.

I knew I should have made the "jaymcdan" joke before John could.
