40 minutes until i can leave and i'm not sure i can stay awake. i got about 110 minutes of sleep last night and i started crashing, hard, about 90 minutes ago. i'm having trouble typing and greater difficulty in keeping my head from lolling over onto my shoulders.

i hope i can make it to the blue line. there's a small chance i could wake up at o'hare today.

chicago kevin is back in a new york groove (chicago kevin), Monday, 12 February 2007 22:05 (seventeen years ago) link

Hmm, I put one on the condom machine, next to the right urinal. Not sure about the other one.

n/a (n/a), Monday, 12 February 2007 22:08 (seventeen years ago) link

if you're facing the urinals this was definitely the left one. and if you're not facing the urinals, what are you? a fucking animal or something?

I remember in grade school, there was a rash of "peeing" competitions in the boys room. They'd see who could stand farthest away from the drain in the floor and still hit it. You didn't want to go in there after that.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Monday, 12 February 2007 22:22 (seventeen years ago) link

Why did I put peeing in quotes?

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Monday, 12 February 2007 22:22 (seventeen years ago) link

apropos of nothing, other than killing time before i have to go teach, i saw Lives of Others, last night and really like it, much more than Pan's Labyrinth. although i keep wanting to call Lives of Others "How the Other Half Lives," because i was reading about Jacob Riis this weekend, too.

also, i'd just like to say being able to play basketball outside in the middle of February is a delight.

I've been working at a laptop in a Panera for the past hour, watching a 60-ish guy from Istambul hit on every pretty lady who sits anywhere near him. Now he is wearing his winter cap and sunglasses. They are all very indulgent and patient with him, until he proposes sex.

I'm IMing a friend of mine who lives far away and it's making me sad. I don't like being sad. I'm going to eat some ice cream.

I am uploading a "chilly" mix that I made, mostly for Jenny, but I'll put it on the blog for anyone who wants it.

Yesterday Courtney and I were eating sushi at a place on Broadway near Cornelia and we saw Jeff walk by, so I called him and we witnessed him pulling his phone out of his pocket and ignoring my call. Then I cried. Then I ate a delishi bite of sushi.

OK, I've read through some of this thread and though I'm late, I want to say:

- The Mac guy is cute. I really, strongly miss the Dell Boy. The PC guy inspires pity in me.

- I love skiing, and it doesn't cost very much money if you live near some mountains. I never paid more than around $30, including lift tickets and ski rentals. One of the drawbacks to living in Chicago is that the skiing possibilities are limited and dissapointing. I learned to ski in Montana.

xpost-- nice.

That is all for now.

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, and NIGHT SKIING is especially fun.

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:44 (seventeen years ago) link

You are alone in this. Much like preferring a hairy back.

What? I don't prefer a hairy back. At all! That's Jenny.

just to be clear, we're talkign about his guy?

You cream over this guy? really? you may be alone in the universe.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 05:07 (seventeen years ago) link

I didn't say I "cream" over him. I just really liked him. That's a bad pic. He is cute.

From the article that goes with the pic you posted:

Steven has now reached cult status.

But Ben Curtis, who plays Steven in the popular ads, doesn't try to figure out his newfound fame. "It's still a mystery to me," says Curtis, 21, an acting student at New York University in Manhattan.

Dell receives fan mail from a whole spectrum of people, from senior citizens to teen-age girls, USA Today reports.

But Ben Curtis, who plays Steven in the popular ads, doesn't try to figure out his newfound fame. "It's still a mystery to me," says Curtis, 21, an acting student at New York University in Manhattan.

Why is the ad so successful? It could be something in the pitchman's eyes, or eyebrows. Mostly, people appear to like his humor....

"I'll take the guy before I take the computer," added a fan who spotted him....

Curtis is so popular that it became difficult for him to complete a photo shoot this week without a fan shouting or running over to grab a little bit of him....

But Steven's appeal goes beyond his youthful age group. "I think he's the best thing since sliced bread," said one white-haired gentleman in Times Square, perhaps indicating the Dell guy does not appeal only to the teen set.
