Can I say again how much I love the light rail train? Went to a show at Jazz Alley last night (too damn $$$ btw and don't eat there unless abs. nec.) and hopped the train from ID to Westlake. I will take the train over a bus any day.

jaq, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 16:21 (fourteen years ago) link

yesterday i took the 18 down to train station area, but we kept getting stopped every 3 ft. in traffic. so, on my way home it was raining and i decided LIGHT RAIL TO THE RESCUE! dragon to tiara in no time! <3 it!

also on the way down, there was a car on the sidewalk on 1st ave, with a down tree. how does that happen in stop and go traffic? i would think you'd need greater velocity to veer off the road and knock a tree down like that.

Whoa! Maybe they came roaring down the hill from 2nd? (though it's much steeper from 3rd or 4th to 2nd)

spite n ease (harbl), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 02:51 (fourteen years ago) link

when i went home i went to my mom's farmers' market and almost all the farmers are women and have that weird kind of 70s bowl cut. it was like another world.

spite n ease (harbl), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 02:53 (fourteen years ago) link

in rochester half the farmers were menonite! they were a lil creepy but damn that market was amazing.

seattle expert question: is the only entrance to myrtle edwards at broad st? or can i get in somewhere off western?

te,he (tehresa), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 05:00 (fourteen years ago) link

the internet is really unhelpful in this matter.

te,he (tehresa), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 05:00 (fourteen years ago) link

you can access it out the other end, near the magnolia bridge. it's not obvious and well into interbay

jergins, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 05:15 (fourteen years ago) link

there's not a way across the tracks from western or elliott i don't think. cuts the park off

jergins, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 05:17 (fourteen years ago) link

hmmph!

In ancient times (6 years back - well before CC was the hip new happenin' place), we picked our CSA up there.

jaq, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 15:33 (fourteen years ago) link

columbia city farmer's market: ok. i liked ballard better. and ballard seems cheaper? i still haven't been to u dist!
i got: rainbow chard, blueberries, raspberries, okra, green and yellow squashes, cherry tomatoes, and a purple pepper! i bought it just because it was purple! they said it has mild flavor.

light rail: still awesome! i also took the monorail to the light rail :) i wish it was longer!

three weeks pass...

what is the tree with these weird berries?! fascinating. they start green then turn red and they are cherry sized and orange inside and look sectioned/bubbled with a little dot for each section. they are everywhere!

oh lol i remember you telling me about that!

his blog is really great, though. and i saw a video of him making a 'rosewater rickey' that made me want to go and watch him making drinks for hours.

te,he (tehresa), Monday, 19 October 2009 03:00 (fourteen years ago) link

but yeah, even though i walked past tini bigs like 300 times in the past 2 months, i could never bring myself to go in!

tehresa, Saturday, 7 November 2009 02:49 (fourteen years ago) link

eh, some don't, some do. people who make that generalization are talking out their asses.

lxy, Saturday, 7 November 2009 03:00 (fourteen years ago) link

i would use one anywhere it was raining.

estela, Saturday, 7 November 2009 03:08 (fourteen years ago) link
