I usually just rinse them - maybe they need to be soaked in water+vinegar instead?

hm, would that fuck with the flavor?
you know, i feel like the leaf with the worm was so far inside that choke that no amount of cleaning/rinsing would have found it. mostly i'm just concerned that because that artichoke was boiled with others, i've been eating weird worm matter that got into the water during cooking and was absorbed by the artichokes. also since i put a lot of spices in, i can't tell if i am eating dirt or spice sometimes.
i will do some research perhaps. it's an artichoke journey tbh.

Well, all that worm ever ate was artichoke probably. (what my dad always said when I found a worm in an apple)

(which supposedly justified eating it and not worrying about it, but never really seemed right to me)

I was reminded of artichoke magic last night. Eat a some of a plain boiled or steamed artichoke, then drink some water. It will taste sweet!
