i have a pact with my girlfriend where if were both unhappy with our career/life situation in 5 years were going to move somewhere sort of rural, maybe upstate new york or southern new jersey or somewhere in rhode island, and open a tiny little restaurant/bar with my dad as the chef with no more than 5-6 tables and just one menu every day based on what we can scrounge up and well just close the restaurant when we run out of ingredients

um thats a little more complicated than the actual pact which is just that well open a small business if we hate our lives in five years

opening a bar is probably a bigger fantasy for me than opening a bookstore, but bookstore rates pretty high

i have been thinking about this a lot because it turns out that living in the real world and having a job is not as much fun as fucking around in college

we are doing this. not off the grid by any means, just a different one. better, we hope. and no grand plans for opening any shops, etc., just making a new life in a new place. destination amsterdam, spring 2023. start making plans to see us there or meet up nearby!

they made it through our cleaning (of course), agent’s cleaning, staging, viewing, offer, second offer, counteroffer, mutual acceptance, and pending. next up, inspection, appraisal, and sale (knock on wood fingers crossed). so far so good!
