O'Hare sucks, the one and only time I've ever even kinda been in Chicago was running through O'Hare and almost missing my connecting flight because geniuses put connecting flight on entire other side of airport, seemingly??? WTF.

I think the standard answer to the Vietnam vets / lightbulb joke is a really well-acted "that's RIGHT you don't know, because YOU WEREN'T THERE, MAN." (This joke makes me feel guilty, but it's fun to do in public.) You can get similar intensity out of south-siders by talking about what Chicago is/is-not like in north-side terms. (Judging by ILX, similar dynamics apply to Jersey City.)
