playlouder don't even entertain the notion it's a spoof.

I know, that's the most baffling thing. To me, even if I didn't write for Stylus, it'd be obvious it was a spoof, otherwise why put "reviewed by Paul Scott" at the bottom?!

As I posted somewhere else entirely, it reads like a would-be comedian's idea of how A&R people talk

and playlouder is funded directly by a record company isn't it? so you'd think they'd know their shit.

Dom tells me DiS's editor claimed it was real and he'd "seen the originals" on a now deleted post on their messageboard.

It's interesting that it's been taken so seriously. I also reckon that your average Stylus reader will have enough knowledge to guess/ know that conversations like that do happen, about The Kooks, about Razorlight, about nearly all artists who chart. You'd have to be increadibly naive* not to.
Perhaps it appeals because it reinforces what people (in this case Stylus readers, Playlouder etc) are already happy to believe?

*I'm sorry, that was an accidental ref...

the self-deprecating line at the end about "Major Webzine" and "who reads that crap anyway" is the biggest giveaway
