jaffas are delicious orbs of smooth milk chocolate with a crispy orange candy coating, i am confident you would <3 them.

Oh god now I really am jealous bc orange and chocolate is one of my all time favorite combinations.

Also back on topic I am outraged because my faucet water filter will not stay attached and now I have to return it. But at least it is an outrage of a domestic nature that is not my fault!

we have a general understanding in our household: ytth doesn't like to clean and doesn't really care all that much about being slobby, except for once in awhile, and i am getting more neurotic about these matters as i get older. so whoever is most annoyed by something being dirty is the one who'll clean it. it works pretty well.

domestic outrage this morning: ytth couldn't find his keys and i got snotty cuz he can NEVER find his keys so i sighed loudly and got up to help him look and then remembered that i put them in my handbag last night

on tuesday i missed the garbage truck because i thought it would always come at 11 pm and it came at 7:30. so i had to keep my garbage inside until today and i had a lid on it so the flies were manageable but when i went to tie it up it was the WORST garbage i have ever smelled, it smelled like a baby's diaper x10000, i thought i would pass out, i was gagging, it was unbelievable. i did get it outside but now the smell is still lingering even though i sprayed the garbage can with lysol. UGH what an outrage

when i lived in japan i always knew when summer was at hand bcz our building's garbage would get the WORST fish stench. oh it'd get in my nose for hours, so awful

Oh god the worst was living next to the live poultry store in bushwick my first summer in nyc. It was a hot one, with many 100 degree days, and with no a/c our options were a) stagnant 100 degree chicken air, or b)turn on fan & blow hot chicken breeze all over the room. On top of it, when the garbage truck came, the act of picking up the bags that had been cooking on the street all day and throwing them into the truck where they were mixed up with all the other hot trash would release this pugnant stench into the air that once woke me up and almost made me vomit it was so bad. What an outrage!

because this year has not been special enough, my sewer line is now backed up. (luckily caught before my basement totally flooded). 🥴

sorry t, the whole world is like a backed up sewer line but that doesn’t make a domestic outrage not outrageous.

ugh, so sorry about that. I have had one small backup and one that was... less small. I should be clearing tree roots out of my sewer line every year or two, this was (I think?) year three and was going to have it done in the spring except it wasn’t a good time

our new neighbour, who has a shaved head and bold tattoos and rides a harley, used his leaf blower six times yesterday and then again this morning. wtf. what a fusspot. it’s the worst sound in the world. also he just started it up again right now while i was mid-complaint.

furnace broken. part unavailable until ????

this happened to me last month. i got a new furnace a year ago. the control board died and you could not buy another compatible board anywhere. under normal circumstances it would be available and cost like $100. i had to buy another furnace.

my furnace is like 30 years old so i got a home warranty. they just called and think they will be able to come with the part tomorrow afternoon. that will be such a relief as my thermostat read 39° this morning.

thankful for my sunny porch, as is the dog.

never in my life have i gone to a neighbour’s house for a nice afternoon visit and then when they weren’t looking sneaked upstairs and peed on their hallway carpet, but that’s exactly what the little dog from next door just did and then she had the cheek to seem glum and bored during the cleanup

i have given up on jarbls and now use a sticky window thing to keep the fruit flies at bay. it is kind of gross and leaves glue on the window but it works for any type of fly.

also, after years of having an annual unannounced House Fly Week where tens of house flies appear out of nowhere, this year i had like 5 house flies total? not sure why; it is a mystery

there have been so damn many flies this year! and multiple varieties that i’ve never had invade my house before

i can’t turn the gas stove on in this apartment. i know how to, it is functioning, jergins can do it, i have turned gas stoves on in other places, but i just can’t make it stay lit. i even watched a fucking youtube video on how to turn on a gas stove. so if i want to cook anything, i have to get jergins to turn on the stove. if he isn’t home, i am not cooking.

i am outraged to the point of resignation.
