EZ -- did you see this item on Carl W's blog?

Pitchfork reports that Joanna Newsom is going to put out an EP featuring her live band with one new song (probably the song fans have been calling Shreddy or Colleen, of which you can hear about 30 badly recorded seconds here) and one track each from Ys and Milk-Eyed Mender. I've never seen the band, which features tambura, accordion, drums, percussion and back-up vocals, but by the accounts and samples I've heard, I'm inclined to prefer the Balkan-influenced arrangements over the album's orchestral versions. It's a shame that the EP's only three songs. However, you can't beat the title: Joanna Newsom and the Ys Street Band - just another sign of the current Second Coming of Springsteenism on the indie side of the street.

For all the jaymc.xls fans out there, I just remembered that in fourth grade, I kept a steno pad with profiles of all of my classmates: where they lived, their parents and siblings names, birthdays, etc. Sort of a proto-MySpace back in 1988.

I can't decide if I want to live alone or with a roommate next year. One of the guys from the band really wants to get a place...on one hand I like living alone, but on the other maybe it would get me to hang out more?

there's an awesome apartment about 2 blocks south of me that is for rent, i looked at the building 2 years ago and really really wanted to live there but someone else moved in first and now it's open again and i'm not ready to move yet so i'll lose out on it again causing me mental anguish heartbreak and run on sentencing.

The company my roommate works for is almost always hiring testers. The thing is, the place kind of sucks to work at. I don't know how he's lasted as long as he has there -- probably because he's not afraid to be an asshole.

whenever i think "ok, now what" i grab a beer, get a smoke, or start to read. sometimes all three. depends on how much time i have, where i am, what i'll be doing later etc.

Oh, don't worry. I am always the person buying tix ahead when they let me. Even for shows that no one cares about. I'm not about to get all the way there to find myself disappointed. When does record come out? I only have the EP.

Also, I feel like I spend 75% of my time and money on food, but I don't mind. I would rather spend it on food than on something I don't enjoy. Like surgery.
