trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 00:01 (fifteen years ago) link

i don't know how you would since i imagine most people work in different boroughs than they live.

tehresa, Sunday, 26 April 2009 00:01 (fifteen years ago) link

what is that a list of, jergs?

tehresa, Sunday, 26 April 2009 00:01 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Sunday, 26 April 2009 00:30 (fifteen years ago) link

hey harbs i was jk about baltimore sucking. i have no idea. i've spent all of three days there, as a tourist. i think it might be kind of an interesting place. i have no idea. urban exploration? lots of brick? heart of the east coast? hey a city's got john waters and matmos and amon repping for it, it can't be bad, right? great ballpark there. massive abandoned factories. birthplace of babe ruth. i'm into it.

jergins, Sunday, 26 April 2009 05:48 (fifteen years ago) link

lol @ face saving attempt

tehresa, Sunday, 26 April 2009 05:49 (fifteen years ago) link

it's ok jergins.

i was there for like 12 weeks last summer and i found it didn't suck or not suck, it's just a place to live. i liked my job ok and people in the office didn't seem miserable or overworked. i don't wanna live somewhere really cold anymore (e.g. where i grew up) or in the south (too hot and southern). also relatively cheap. and i think i am just a permanent east coaster. the midwest bothers me. it is really windy and people are weird and kind of annoying. anyway i'm not looking for some place people idealize like portland or something. i just wanna live somewhere average. like sort of good but sort of bad!

trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 13:39 (fifteen years ago) link

i don't care if you say it sucks anyway. i was just wondering because it seems like a place you would like.

trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 13:42 (fifteen years ago) link

i also considered milwaukee and philadelphia but eh. milwaukee is like a much colder version of cbus, which i am not that excited about to begin with. philadelphia the office i was looking at is not hiring any recent grads this year because of $$$. oh well! also i had an interview for prestigious nyc job and was sort of relieved when they didn't like me :)

trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 13:46 (fifteen years ago) link

prestigious should be in lol quotes

trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 13:46 (fifteen years ago) link

halol

tehresa, Sunday, 26 April 2009 13:59 (fifteen years ago) link

trouble child (harbl), Sunday, 26 April 2009 14:14 (fifteen years ago) link

i am excited but i feel like i am in permanent weekend mode until august. this is gonna be hard. i'm just gonna go to the movies and drink beers with the cat all the time instead of studying and studying is important this time :((((((

trouble child (harbl), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 01:43 (fifteen years ago) link

so not gonna be ready in 13 days

trouble child (harbl), Saturday, 2 May 2009 22:41 (fourteen years ago) link

wow, i have a lot to do!

tehresa, Monday, 4 May 2009 14:20 (fourteen years ago) link

i keep trying to pack things and my apartment gets more and more covered with random junk to trip on. a lot of boxes in the hallway though! eeeeeeee

trouble child (harbl), Monday, 4 May 2009 15:08 (fourteen years ago) link

lol i went on this cleaning binge and threw out all my boxes like 2 months ago! oops.

tehresa, Monday, 4 May 2009 15:55 (fourteen years ago) link

perhaps this will inspire me to get rid of more stuff, though :D

tehresa, Monday, 4 May 2009 15:55 (fourteen years ago) link

someone promised to bring me boxes a few weeks ago and keeps forgetting and i am mad

trouble child (harbl), Monday, 4 May 2009 16:25 (fourteen years ago) link

tehresa, Monday, 4 May 2009 17:04 (fourteen years ago) link

seattle: would i hate living downtownish?

tehresa, Monday, 4 May 2009 21:03 (fourteen years ago) link

see also: 20th ave @ e. jefferson.

tehresa, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 03:10 (fourteen years ago) link

wait i lied wrong listing. wallingford, near 45th is what i want to know about.

tehresa, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 03:25 (fourteen years ago) link

downtown would be great. there is a dearth of nearby grocery stores but the resourceful should have no problems
i know u retracted 20th/jefferson but to guve u an out line i would say uhh mostly. only if it's cheap would it be an okay neighborhood
i love wallingford. it's a nice very seattle area, close to everything and picturesque as hell

jergins, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 05:03 (fourteen years ago) link

wallingford place is super cheap but also comes with 2 22-year old girl roommates.
only for the summer, though, so maybe i could deal?
eesh i want my own place, but maybe not til i'm settled?

tehresa, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 05:14 (fourteen years ago) link

plz stop to think of other people and the comic thread possibilities they might enjoy

blargh i need like 4 more boxes and i could be pretty much done

trouble child (harbl), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 19:17 (fourteen years ago) link

i posted a housing wanted ad and already have 7 responses, but it seems like they take a lot more work to get details/info out of.

tehresa, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 19:39 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah, i tried that when i was looking for a sublet last summer but it was annoying. people can't understand what you want so i got a bunch of responses from people who had rooms in complexes in the suburbs and also from crepey dudes with a spare bedroom in their condo. eventually i found a place w/ roommates and they were nice people but it made me really swear to never have a roommate again!!!!

trouble child (harbl), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 19:58 (fourteen years ago) link

like the one that was there the most was really mom-like and always calling me to see where i was if i stayed out too late

trouble child (harbl), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 19:59 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah part of my desire to move is a desire to not have to have roommates anymore! i mean, if i have to for a while, fine. but @(*#. this one lady has a reasonably priced 'mother-in-law' apartment but like, i don't know if i'm comfortable living in the same house as landlord. it's weird.

tehresa, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 20:15 (fourteen years ago) link

oh i think those are the best kind of landlords though! if they live in the house they have some stake in it other than collecting rent.

trouble child (harbl), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 20:22 (fourteen years ago) link

i don't like living nextdoor to the landlords

jergins, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 20:23 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah but i feel like i'd be living with my mom or something and be all nervous about things.

tehresa, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 20:23 (fourteen years ago) link

ehhhh i dunno. my landlord used to live on the next block until his washing machine exploded and he moved to his other house. i wouldn't mind if he lived downstairs, he is a cool dude. but i dunno. true she could be the kind that makes sure you don't bring boys home.

trouble child (harbl), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 20:27 (fourteen years ago) link

i dunno i dunno
