electricity bills in winter are THE WORST!!!!!

My city utilities (electric/water/sewage/trash) cost half as much in the winter compared to summer. Natural gas bill = 20X higher. This year we're finally getting smart and turning the central heat way down and using electric space heaters.

the jean teasdale threads are perplexing today.

I suspect this varies largely by region but our winter electric bill runs $150 or so a mth and summer is usually $250-300

yes. although I'm not really sure why our winter bill is so high. our heat is gas and we don't run it much.
