also I have totally seen a whole lot of random stupid movies.

Sarah's mom was on the high school debate team with Stephen Tobolowsky, who was also in the episodes of Deadwood we watched yesterday. He's everywhere!

I say "coincidence," but maybe I should start saying predicament in the second verse. Those lyrics aren't exactly an in-depth examination of the film, though.

Actually, they were debate partners, IIRC.

Sarah's Mom dated Needle-Nose Ned? Ned the Head?

Also Sammy Jankis.

Nick's right, he's a very well-employed character actor.

I want to see that:

Stephen Tobolowsky's Birthday Party is a 2005 documentary about Stephen Tobolowsky in which he tells stories from his life. The actor, who is usually in a supporting role, takes center stage in the 87-minute Birthday Party and single handedly captivates and entertains the audience.

Whoah! What is that movie? xpost

I really don't feel like working. Or doing anything.

n/a (n/a), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

It sounds Spalding Gray-esque.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:04 (seventeen years ago) link

I still want to see Children of Men. I am bad at going to the movies.

danno martinez (danno martinez), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:08 (seventeen years ago) link

For the record, my mom was on the debate team with him, but not his partner. Her debate partner was Steve's partner before she was my mom's though.

Ugh. I am feeling less and less well. My tummy is messed up. Reheated Chicago-style pizza with pepperoni for breakfast? Could that be it?

Oh yeah, and I have been cross-country skiing. In Austria. It was pretty fun, though a lot of work and very tiring.

So I'm the only one who thought this was brilliant?

This weather does suck a bit, but I'd rather it were warmer and snowy than the cold we've had for the last couple weeks. And no matter how snowy and slushy it gets, it's not that city in New York. 151 inches, I read? That's too much snow.

Observations on food: 1) instant oatmeal is a little yucky, but it is oatmeal, and that's better than no oatmeal. 2) if I thought I could get by with it, I would eat mozzarella sticks morning, noon, and night.

My parents have Super 8 home movies transferred to VHS of me XC skiing at like 2 years old. I started doing downhill in 7th grade or so. Tried a little tele but never got any good at it. Never tried snowboarding, I was afraid of the ass pain (from FALLING). I miss skiing a lot, I used to go every day after school until they turned the lights off on the hill.

HS: Did you ever go skiing at that little hill/park between E. Aurora and W. Seneca, NY? Can't remember the name but my aunt's house was right near the bottom of it.

I kind of made the free-association with "mozzarella sticks" and Buffalo sauce (both being staples of chain-restaurant appetizer menus) but I didn't get Buffalo mozzarella until just now, no.

Dan, no! I don't think I've ever even heard of it, though that seems impossible. I'm going to try to find out wat it's called.

I may have screwed up the geography. Maybe it's toward South Wales? It's very small, and possibly associated with a larger local park.

I have been to Kissing Bridge, but I was pretty young then and don't remember a whole lot.

xpost: Just thwarting the peanut gallery a little.
