v,

hahahahaha, sorry for my poor scanning skills! are you sure it wasn't april of 1994? i'm pretty sure it was april because it was my friend's bday and we took him to see AOL as that was his favorite band.

Exchange rate with the yen is actually pretty decent right now though, so if you end up visiting Japan, or know anyone there who can pick stuff up for you, prices are much better. Otherwise, call up Gordon at Blue in Green in SoHo or Kiya at Self Edge in SF.

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Monday, 4 December 2006 21:16 (seventeen years ago) link

self edge's prices are identical to HP, I believe they are their supplier.

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Monday, 4 December 2006 21:36 (seventeen years ago) link

did you buy them when you worked at that one yuppie furniture store, steve shasta?

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 4 December 2006 21:39 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, I'm pretty sure HP is the distributor for all Canes in the US. Lots of other great JP denim at Self Edge and BiG though, that I think is not so inflated in price as Canes are here.

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Monday, 4 December 2006 21:58 (seventeen years ago) link

no i bought them when i was a freelance consultant. i'm surprised you didn't know that.

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Monday, 4 December 2006 22:23 (seventeen years ago) link

I've been reading this thread all day and not really paying attention, I guess! It just came to me.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 4 December 2006 22:40 (seventeen years ago) link

april 1995??

vahid (vahid), Monday, 4 December 2006 23:20 (seventeen years ago) link

i was attending the JEA high school journalism at the convention center, we drove over to SOMA from our hotel in the gaslamp. the JEA website lists the san diego convention as happening in april 1995.

also the night before i went to a show at the 14th + c street space (remember that?!?) (it was some garage rock 4-piece w/ an organist, they were all wearing j spacemen sunglasses and black mod jackets) and i don't think 14th + c was open in april 1994.
