well its not really batter--its like a bowl of butter + brown sugar + cinammon + nutmeg + cloves... and you scoop a little bit out, put it in a mug w/ some rum and add boiling water

protip for you max: ditch everything else and ratchet up the nutmeg quantity. won't taste that good but you'll thank me later!

this worked out well btw--really its mostly rum & hot water w/ some spices and just barely enuf sugar/butter to make it thick & rich

in rummaging through cabinets and determining we did not have a good alcohol for hot toddy, sister suggested hot buttered rum. i said 'oh haillll no!'.
