hey Ally, at Tower today I got "Fierce Freestyle Classics: The Collection", a 61-track 3-disc set mixed by THE MIXTRESS. Came out to like $10. There was another copy there.

61 Freestyle Classics >>>>> 69 Love Songs

Brian Miller (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 21:40 (seventeen years ago) link

That seems like a completely OTM statement, without having listened to these Fierce Freestyle Classics yet. Where the hell is the Tower? The one in Foggy Bottom?? That is still open?

We should go to the gay bar around the way from the Bricknothavingbeerskellar. It always looks very inviting, with the firey bits and all.

Things you notice when you come to work at 6:35 am.

1. Buildings where the lights and the escalators are apparently never turned off, because you can see that they are active, but the doors are locked and nobody is inside yet (this is the 555 12th St office building containing the Barnes & Noble + ESPNZone downtown, I use it as a shortcut most mornings)

2. No traffic. No tourists. Barely any people at all. No sunshine, nothing. I like it.

3. So why the fuck are there still so many people on the train?

plus HOUSE MD is totally Murder, She Wrote with a crazy asshole opiate addict in place of a sweet old lady. Also at least Jessica Fletcher had to travel different places to encounter different insanely convoluted mysteries, whereas House would have us believe there is this one hospital that the entirety of the American healthcare system sends all their cryptopathology cases to.

"Ma'am, I have no fuckin' idea what is wrong with you, I mean, obviously a LOT of things are wrong with you, but twenty years of residency and I'm just like damn. We're going to put you on a helicopter to Teeveeland Presbyterian, they have this huge prick who can figure out anything, you just have to put up with being called a moron every three minutes."

AND, to top it off, last night, what is the deal with that cop and what kind of Total Information Awareness shit is he keyed into that he knows about bad scrips being picked up within 24 hours? This guy doesn't need to be busting jerk doctors, he needs his own show where he pulls passive-aggressive hardass shit on seditionist counterfeiters and international terror masterminds as a loose cannon who works for the Secret Service.

Any Tuesday Night Takedowns to report?

People on the subway at 6:00am - cleaners, prep cooks, dishwashers, warehouse guys

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 12:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Subway demographics become progressively wealthier as the morning wears on and start declining to a plateau around 10:30 or so

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 12:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I get the subway at 630am. I get a seat:)

Longcat, is it really that long? I saw the original pic and if i do that to my cat, he is also long

Yoopers, it sounds interesting.

Talking of which, this map is awesome

My favorite thing about that map is that it accurately portrays the Southeast as a bitter game of monopoly between "Americans" and black people

No, this is DC. If those folks bother to ride the subway they ride it even earlier. Just about everybody on my line was more dressed up than me (not saying much)

Actually Brian those feds on flex schedules just leave at 2 or 3pm whether they get in early or not. Why bother actually showing up when nobody else is around to say you didn't, besides a couple of contractors?

you know how we run the thing where people send in occasionally made-up and nearly always exaggerated sightings of not-quite-famous people? one of them was him, once, and it implied that he went home with some chick who wasn't his wife.

he had a lengthy explanation, and i neglected to point out that i wasn't his wife either, so why do i give a shit.

yeah, who is danny? from frostburg? I like frostburg, it's a cute little college town.. and then again, what I just thought of was a close friend in high school living there with a bunch of drug dealers

I don't watch House! it's the same thing every week! house takes drugs, behaves like a know it all prick, breaks rules, solves case. it's unbearable. I'm still watching Wire reruns, I should just buy the whole series on DVD.

last night i drank a bottle of wine, ate ethiopian food, did laundry and played guitar. today i feel AWESOME, for reals.
