Software is Windows-only although I wonder how much easier the software actually makes the whole process - maybe not much.

i'm wondering the same thing. this would be the perfect xmas gift for my father, but he's a mac user and while he's very computer-savvy, he doesn't have a lot of time (nor, i suspect, the patience) to futz around with software issues.

i can't imagine it's a good turntable, but maybe it is. I've seen ads for the "burn to cd" system that is also o nthat page and that looks terrible.

the all-in-one faux-olde-tymey looking thing that you can burn vinyl onto cd with is supposed to sound pretty bad. the copies that is. it makes more sense to me that a turntable plugged directly into your computer would sound better. it would be like plugging it into a receiver basically.

i might get rufus one of those non-burning nostalgic cd/lp players though so that he can play his trucking records and 45 storybooks in his room. those crosley ones look nice. especially the suitcase ones. though those don't play cds only lps.
