At least Paolo is hot. Nikki looks a whole lot like Fergie from Black Eyed Peas.

I chuckled at this from the TWOP recap:

Paulo is on the beach, knocking guava or mangos or whatever into the ocean. Oh, Paulo! At it again! Everybody drink!

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 20:46 (fifteen years ago) link

Only it's okay to pee yr pants on craphole island.

Me and my roommate wager on LOST a bunch. We wager bottles of wine for some reason. Here is our current anty:

He bet me 1 bottle we would see Michael/Walt in first 6 ep story arc.
I bet him 1 bottle we would see smoke monster in only ONE of last 2 eps of first 6.
He bet me 1 bottle "Karl" is an off-islander.
I bet him 1 bottle Ben and Tom are lovers.
He bet me 1 bottle the Borat movie would only play in 2 theaters here (unrelated and kind of retarded on his part).

i think you're gonna win this one

I met a lady who teaches at the private school that real-life Benry's real-life children attend. She said "it's creepy" when he comes to pick them up.

Paulo is on the beach, knocking guava or mangos or whatever into the ocean.

It suddenly occurred to me that it's stupid and unrealistic for him to be destroying part of their FOOD SUPPLY, air-drop or no air-drop.

I Am Curious (George) (Slight Return) (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

It looked like rocks to me. At first I was like "do they really have enough golf balls to be knocking them into the ocean like that?" But i'm pretty sure they were rocks.

grady (grady), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 21:16 (fifteen years ago) link

But they were splattering, weren't they?

I Am Curious (George) (Slight Return) (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 21:19 (fifteen years ago) link

I thought they looked like kiwis, so, maybe hairy rocks? Or possibly freeze-dried polar bear nutsacks?

xpost no I think they had some "ping"

I think fuselage.com just blocked my new thread attempt because it had the word "boobs" in the title (in ref to Alex grabbing Kate's boobs in s2 finale). This is an outrage!

Apparently they are moving L O S T to 10 pm EST in 07 (possibly so as not to have to compete w/ American Idol for ratings). I can barely contain myself waiting for it to come on at 9.

Dragons (per the previous FAQ answer) (nklshs), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 14:01 (fifteen years ago) link

10 would make my life easier as i usually am out until 9:30 on wednesdays. which means i either tape it and sit there WAITING FOR IT TO END or watch the last half and then the first.

but why i really came here was to point out there's a new podcast. cuse/lindeloff swear many answers will be reveal'd in 2007. mmm-hm.

Who?

I kind of have prepped myself for the wait until Feb., and if they move it up 4 weeks, does that mean another 4 week hiatus midseason? Fuck that.

ABC I don't think are taking into account that there are a lot of LOST fans who aren't really watching ANYTHING on Wed nights now.

I think SteveM is one of the OtherILX0rs sent to infiltrate us.

teh_kit (g-kit), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:49 (fifteen years ago) link

it was a bit alarming how at the end of each of the new episodes i would be roaring "FOR FUCKS SAKE IS THAT IT??!" every time. 'moon on a stick' i guess.

sede vacante (blueski), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:51 (fifteen years ago) link

there are two main areas of frustration:

1) quantity of stuff happening

2) quantity of stuff NOT happening

sede vacante (blueski), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:53 (fifteen years ago) link

There should be some kinda retreat for LOST fans that are losing the faith. I am very saddened by SteveM's disappointment.

teh_kit (g-kit), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:55 (fifteen years ago) link

i was, in all honesty, a bit let down by the sixer, 4 & 5 in particular (iirc). but it was awkward having just the six and also i personally prefer it on ttv (have to get used to that). i am totally stoked about the next batch.

temporary enrique (temporary enrique), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:56 (fifteen years ago) link

if i could just wait and wait and then just watch the remaining 18 episodes together over one glorious week then i think i would.

sede vacante (blueski), Thursday, 21 December 2006 14:58 (fifteen years ago) link

4 ad breaks? more like EIGHT amirite? it pads the show out to an hour, which i like. perhaps if i hook computer to tv i'd prefer it but i'm not really cut out for that kind of stuff.

temporary enrique (temporary enrique), Thursday, 21 December 2006 15:00 (fifteen years ago) link

52 week seasons? Good God, that's like asking congress to work all year!
I would like it back in Jan., because...it's dark and snowy and bleak in Jan., so it's nice to go to an island.
Plus, I can stop reviving "The Wire" thread, and discuss, endlessly, a different show.
I'm for the Losties for my bleak midwinter, as opposed to Baltimore.
I'd REALLY like to go to Deadwood, on my HBO ticket, but that ain't gonna happen.
There should be more gambling on the LOST thread.

i am just getting into 'the wire' now (s03 not out on dvd here till feb -- s04: fuck knows, so good to pace it). 'the wire' should have 52-week seasons too.

The fact that the women are comic-book cliche women, like strippers or cheerleaders and they get to be sexually victimized.

This was my EXACT beef with Heroes and why I gave up after about three episodes.

although I liked when sawyer punched carl and told him to cowboy up (possibly Boston Red Sox reference #2435)

dmr (dmr), Thursday, 22 February 2007 15:15 (fourteen years ago) link

cowboy up was a term in use long before that steroid laden fat-ass millar made it their rallying cry.

My favorite post on thefuselage.com today (a forum I don't have to re-login onto every fourth post or whatever):

Did you notice that her "mark" looked VERY much like the blacklight hatch map that Locke saw??

I LOVE YOU, LOST FANDS.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 22 February 2007 18:40 (fourteen years ago) link

I personally noted: remember when Jin & Eko saw "Others" walking through the jungle, barefoot and hauling a teddy bear? The tail-section children were wearing shoes, and the teddy bear was in decent shape (as opposed to jungle-Others' teddy bear, mangled and missing a leg). There are still more other Others.

nklshs (nklshs), Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:01 (fourteen years ago) link

nklshs (nklshs), Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:02 (fourteen years ago) link

Anyway, the title (Stranger In A Strange Land) implies that Jack is going to become some kind of spiritual revolutionery among the Others and inspire crazy Martian cult orgies, which I am 1,000% in support of.

The Others' purpose on the island is to film a sequel to The Wedding Crashers.

nklshs (nklshs), Thursday, 22 February 2007 20:59 (fourteen years ago) link

ha ha. you can imagine how that could really change a person.

resumo impetus (blueski), Thursday, 22 February 2007 23:54 (fourteen years ago) link

that was the gayest episode ever.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 23 February 2007 03:16 (fourteen years ago) link

remember when they talked about how there would be a big shift in one character's attitude/outlook midway thru this series? i guess they mean Jack may start feeling more sympathetic to the Others now they're moving him to the village, probably all building up to some 'kill them or us' dilemma. tho he's resisted well so far.

had Jack actually met Alex before this episode?

resumo impetus (blueski), Friday, 23 February 2007 09:59 (fourteen years ago) link

No, and in fact I don't think he's ever been around to hear Rousseau say her stolen baby's name was Alex, either.

Kate should know who exactly Alex is though, after her adventure with Claire and Rousseau @ the medical hatch.
