There was some scratchy electronic music playing and I was in the kitchen and then some more scratchy electronic music came on and, hey, this is Throbbing Gristle isn't it? I am almost shocked by how recognizable "I.B.M." is from D.o.A., an album I never listened to that much (as far as I can remember anyway). If there's a version on that 4-CD live TG box-set, that would explain why it's so familiar, since I did listen to that a lot at one time. I still find something comical about how instantly recognizable it is.

The man has been on tour since he was a fetus, so I don't see why being a corpse should stop him

The station I built around Phil Ranelin's "Vibes from the Tribe" keeps playing me shitty smooth jazz and nu-funk.

Wayne Horvitz = thumbs down
Joyce Cooling = thumbs down
Bill Frisell - White Fang = meh
Bob James - Sign of the Times (album name) = I like some of this dude's stuff, but this shit is a little too backgroundy for me

Eddie Harris - Carry On Brother (live) = this is more like it

Also, I just realized it's a DJ Shadow sample

Yeah, I know it's 2007 but fuck a new thread.

I've been having good luck with jazz fusion lately. My "125th Street Congress" station is teaching me that pretty much all Weather Report before Jaco was good. I fucking hate Jaco though. Also, I have to get the Tony Williams Lifetime album "Turn it Over" - holy fuck. Also Wayne Shorter's Native Dancer has at least one sweet cut on it.
