i got a christmas card in the mail yesterday

it says "merry wishes"

we put our tree up yesterday and today we're going to get lights for it and decorate it.
it's too early but we're going have a thanksgiving at our house and putting up the tree always takes so long when you're trying to do everything else and we want things to be easy so we decided to get a head start, which is not my usual way.
my sister said, 'i hope you are not christmas tree over-achievers,' and i said she would soon see for herself.
our little dog loves it when the tree goes up, he lays underneath it like a slightly grimy gift.

“One night around Christmas 20 years ago, I was doing a recording session at A&R Studios in Hell’s Kitchen. We had just finished the session, and my producer and I decided to get some food. And Paul and I are just trying to keep it together. We did this maybe in one take and we had a Christmas single. Now, it was never given to a record company, but there’s a copy of it floating around somewhere. Stuff like that happens in New York. It’s a small town.”
