my friends that have seen times new viking say that live they aren't quite as good...stripped of the super lo-fi prod. it was too much like a regular bar band.

i want to see them though.

I kinda wish I liked Dig Yourself a bit more, 'cuz it sounds exactly like the sorta record I'm supposed to fall in love with. Raggedy midwest psych-pop! LFW! Hell, yeah. But it's missing me for some reason. A few of the songs are cool 'n' catchy, but I get a distinct feeling of not-blown-away from the record as a whole.

i felt that way at first...it had been pretty hyped to me...then i just kept it in my car cd player forever and the thing sort of wormed its way into my skull...now i love it.

no, i knew weren't from philly. just the vibe. philly had midwest in axis too back then. silt/vert slit/m.rep/gbv/etc/etc. yah, basically kilgour + house was the vibe. which is a great fucking vibe.
