lenny's did not have persimmons, but the first shipment was delivered WHILE I WAS THERE! they are hard as stones but i bought 8 anyway.

we have a huge harvest this year, but none of them are ripe yet. keep hearing reports that people are trying to steal them from the tree. we don't care except that the last time someone tried to take one they broke a branch because they didn't know to twist instead of pull.

There was debate about the proper persimmon ripeness among the family, and sister mentioned she had caught passersby approaching the tree as well!

1 to the branch-breaker mailman. 2 went overripe in a night. 3 in fine eating form. 119 hard as rocks and taking up the entire table and half a countertop. untold numbers harvested by squirrels, birds and passersby.
