Also, the only thing I myself can contribute to this poll with any certainty is the non-2006 song I played most this year: French singer Armande Altai's "Balance-toi Lola, seule sous la luna, nue dans les lilas" which despite the long title is actually very catchy. It comes from 1983 and was produced by MARTIN HANNETT and he makes the guitars sound exactly like Joy Division. But don't try to find it on vinyl unless you want to pay through the nose for what may be a scratchy LP.
