Scott, after you posted the pic of Journey Through The Past I was like wtf is taht and tracked it down. It's really good. Amazing live version of "Ohio" recorded one month after Kent State, one of those moments when a song you've heard a bazillion times gutpunches you out of nowhere with its intensity + confuzed frenzy. The last 3 sides are pretty tasty as the album dissolves into a way-stoned lo-fi aural sculpture made from Neil rehearsals, convos w/ Christians, and marching bands. Love the spooky cover art, too.

Now I wanna see the movie.

my landlady emailed me to say she signed for a package of mine. that means i have a record waiting for me at home but i don't know which one! the anticipation is almost ecstatic!!

artful dodger - babes on broadway (parts sound like abba, parts sound like journey, it all sounds very 1977)
the neighborhoods - the high hard one (dusted this off because i'm going to see the reuninted neighborhoods next month plus the cover pic is the 'hoods sitting along the first base box seats at fenway.)

strangely enough, i was compelled to grab a couple sun city girls records to listen to today..then i get here and read the bad news..

on the train: marissa nadler: saga of the mayflower may...im not so sure about the female "folk" singers...sometimes its a touch to ophilia-esque....and i have no ophiliaphilia when it comes to it. at the same time, i kind of enjoy it for the music it is...
