Fuck a Granary Bread

Honestly, who likes this shit? I just bought a sandwich without checking the label and it's granary bastard bread. Peasants used to eat this stuff cos they couldn't afford nice soft bread. Now it's some sort of status thang. Bread with bits in sucks.

the fizzy water of breads.

Suits robust sandwiches such as roast pork or Plougman's made with strong cheddars. Only a doucherag would put prawn mayo in it, tho.

I like wholemeal, but this whole "why are there tasteless crunchy bits in my bread?" thing sucks hugely.

I like granary bread. I like having seeds and crunchy bits in my bread, because it distracts me from the "ugh, yuck, disgusting, I'm eaing BREAD" sensation.

And white bread... bleurgh. I would rather eat styrofoam.

Granary bread is excellent. Death to non-believers.

By choking on bits of corn-husk, presumably.

I scoff both granary bread and at you.

Kate and noodles are On The Millet.

How can we both be "on the millet" when we've said completely opposite things?

masonic boom (kate), Thursday, 21 December 2006 13:14 (seventeen years ago) link

I...wait.

Kate is the one I agree with.

It is much too early for me to be braining.

Peasants sometimes know better about what's tasty.

granary rules. the more seeds and things, the better.

Lauren (lauren), Thursday, 21 December 2006 15:12 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't like too many seeds and whatnot on top tho.

sede vacante (blueski), Thursday, 21 December 2006 15:16 (seventeen years ago) link

I like a multi-grain bread, but without any of the grains being in big chunks. There was a bakery in Redding that made a 10-grain bread that was fantastic, substantial but not dense, delicious with anything you put on it.
