I don't know if anyone would be interested in this, but it made me pop a gross of boners.

Pazzo shoes (I've never heard of them before this) are like 70% off. I got these guys yesterday for $35. It's been hard for me to find flats that aren't old ladyish or madly D&D styled.

Here's the link to all their shoes. Some of them are pretty corny but others are pretty neat. I just thought some of you might like to know.

What's the catch? Instant back spasms? Made by slaves? Wait, ALL the shoes we buy are made by slaves...

Of course, but I'm ordering those online! Haha. We can take you to Century 21 for discount everything (including Marc Jacobs but still usually $200+!!) and Sigerson Morrison to drool.

oooh

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 00:47 (seventeen years ago) link

those boots are adorable, Laurel! both pairs.

I recently bought a pair that look roughly like these (I just spent far too long trying to find a picture of the exact pair):

http://www.zappos.com/images/725/7251276/5089-278982-d.jpg

mine have a buckle on the ankle, though, and white stitching.

now I'm thinking I need white boots, too.

horseshoe (horseshoe), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 04:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I bought these at the weekend. They're plastic and cheap and I got them cheaper and they make my legs look thinner than they are, when I wear them with opaque tights.

those paisley boots are beautiful.

I can't stop looking at the scary toe-boots!

horseshoe (horseshoe), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 16:56 (seventeen years ago) link

lolz, before I actually read the order I thought Ethan was buying himself girlyboots.

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 19:37 (seventeen years ago) link

for a minute i had a supercrush on unfamiliar girl on familiar bus last night on the way home. then i saw her boots and it was :( all the way around.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 19:40 (seventeen years ago) link

Why, were they Uggs?

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 19:47 (seventeen years ago) link

no, they weren't quite that bad. but still, i think they were suede (great idea in the slush) and sort of a dark buff color? it was like those boots were attractive girl anti-matter. i silently judged her to be functionally retarded.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 19:49 (seventeen years ago) link

whoa, those are like foot-binding dominatrix shoes. creepy.

Maria e (Maria), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:01 (seventeen years ago) link

Yes, those people's idea of "high" heels are 4-6" and up, but even with ultra heels the balls of yr feet should still be flat on the floor. The patent fetish things up there are strictly for the obvious.

Performing the saucy version of the NUTCRACKER?

Why yes! From a seated or reclining position, naturally.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:14 (seventeen years ago) link

i was so excited when i heard i was going to see "the nutcracker" for xmas. i was so horribly mistaken. if you'll excuse me i need an ice bag and a truss.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:15 (seventeen years ago) link

omg lolz at Ally wedding thread and how i ruined it

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:16 (seventeen years ago) link

i remember a story on npr about some dude who spent some time in east africa with tribesmen who had never worn shoes and how their feet didn't even look like most other people's because they had never been constricted by stuffing them into leather coverings. apparently they have widely splayed toes with a huge separation between the big toe and the next one. what the hell do you call that toe anyway? the index toe? anyway, when i was in vermont for the nephew's christening two months ago i saw his feet and he had the separation between the big toe. i whispered to him to try to resist shoes at all costs. i'll be keeping tabs on the kid for the next couple decades to see if it had any effect.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:21 (seventeen years ago) link

why am i even reading this thread?

oh, i know, so i can eventually post to dropout thread

grbchv! (gbx), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:22 (seventeen years ago) link

We went shoeless most of the summers, except for church, and I remember that as a teenager my toes were still widely splayed out. Then I worked retail for a few years, in dress shoes.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:25 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm hoping unfamiliar girl on the familiar bus is on the bus again tonight and i'm hoping she has some decent goddamn shoes on.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:29 (seventeen years ago) link

THEN will you talk to her?

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:30 (seventeen years ago) link

only to upbraid her for her choice of boots the previous night.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 20:32 (seventeen years ago) link

apparently they have widely splayed toes with a huge separation between the big toe and the next one.

My feet are still like that!

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 21:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Me too, it makes me feel like a goblin.

Abbott (Abbott), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 00:40 (seventeen years ago) link

i think the extreme fetish shoes are kind of cute, in a way (though completely unsexy). they're kind of like what a dame darcy-drawn girl would wear.

Lauren (lauren), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 01:03 (seventeen years ago) link

they terrify me

maunders (maunders), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 04:00 (seventeen years ago) link

They remind me of lobster claws or some other kind of dark arthropod appendage.

Abbott (Abbott), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 04:19 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't like the look of the ankle-length ones, really. Knee length look better.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 08:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Those fetish boots are making me queasy. When I first saw them I thought someone had accidentally left the toes out of the frame.

Those paisley cowboy boots are beyond excellent, however. You should get them, Kate.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 09:33 (seventeen years ago) link

i did not see unfamiliar girl on familiar bus yesterday but i DID see a differnt girl in the same boots (except these were grey) and while i still think they're pretty gross, they did not make me turn away from unfathomably hott woman walking in front of my car on division last night.

as much as i hate all the bars/restaurants on division and the people that frequent them, some of them are genuinely amazing to look at.
