Has anyone been watching the English-language version today? (Or the French version?) I'm pretty psyched about this, although it could wind up being crap.

Oh hold on, never mind. It starts in three hours.

Here's what it will look like, in English: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xnja6_exclusive-images-of-france-24

and a longer video in French: http://www.memoire-vive.org/archives/001258.php

Funny. I was just going to start a thread along these lines.

I will definitely check it out.

three weeks pass...
Finally watched this today to get a different view on the Saddam hanging.

the light blues are much better than the reds of most of the other news channels particularly Al-J which has gone for reds and oranges which over saturate terribly with their DVCAM equipment.

Crazy orchestra plus Van Halen theme tune.

Catherine Galloway has hair that looks like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards and is one hot anchor.

GMT is always referred to as Universal Time.

It's France Vingt-Quatre not France Twenty Four.

Interesting stories though, good coverage of european stories (unsurprisingly). Not overly obsessed with the Saddam hanging as well.

Used James Brown death as an excuse to show Johnny Halliday in silver spandex trousers.

They have streaming from their website (windows media only (very un-french, if it was proper french they would have written their own codec and player)).
