is xanax a sleeping pill?

when i was living with my best friend for a few months she was on some heavy meds incl sleeping pills, and since i was going thru rough times she would occasionally give half a sleeping pill. it would knock me out but it would make her so freakin chatty: she would just sorta drunkenly ramble on and on. it was a difficult time for all concerned.

i was stuck at my stepmom's 50th birthday in phoenix az. my sister kept giving me xanax, all through 2 days. what a surreal spring training game. and i slept through the blowing out of the candles.

i have never had a xannie and tried to be functional! this sounds like a fun task.
