words of wisdom from the last.fm forums regarding neighbors:
25 Jan 2008, 20:53 The neighbors take into account much more than your top 3; I think it dips into the top 100 or more. Some of my neighbors don't match any in the top ten but ALOT in the 10-100 range.

It ranks your top artists by how many minutes you have spent listening to them, rather than how many different tracks. Then it even tells you how your rankings have changed. So, for me, Stars of the Lid (looong tracks) bumped up ten spots, and Cassetteboy (many short tracks per album) dropped down 24 spots. Pretty cool.

Due to datacenter power issues beyond our control, we're trying to power Last.fm on a greatly reduced set of servers this weekend.
Please bear with us as we scramble to catch exploding DC/AC inverters... stay tuned, we'll be restoring regular service as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

you can change how quickly your plays are scrobbled:
open the AS window (the thing you always do and that i never do, you know, the red dot)select toolsselect optionsselect scrobbling
then you can change your preferences. mine is set at 0.

like this autobio. zntn:
'I was mostly a rock type, going to shows weekly, buying demo tapes, fanzines and everything linked to the music community. This began my vinyl craze.
From this background I started making mix-tapes and obsessing about concepts like flow, and already near the turn of the century came the ever growing electronic side of things, first from synth pop, ambient and electro until finally admitting (not easily) I actually enjoyed house and techno - mostly on the DIY, primitive and raw side of it which I compare with rock aesthetics.

Boy Crisis30,781 plays scrobbled on Last.fm
Boy Crisis is an American Proto-Post Popular Music Band from the United States following the Rhythm & Blues Tradition of such classic acts as The Ronettes and New Edition. Combining the "shock and awe" brute force of late-stage capitalism arena rock and hair glam with the aesthetics of the manufactured Boy Band, this Brooklyn-based American five-some carry on the Great Western Tradition of cultural appropriation in an attempt to forge at least some semblance of interpersonally translatable empathy and compassion and at most, true love.
