wow. someone was telling me about that place recently. so much weird shit like: As of the 2000 census, there were 21 people, 10 households, and 7 families residing in the borough. As of March 2004, there were eighteen people residing in nine dwellings. It is expected that many former residents will return in 2016 to open a time capsule buried in 1966 next to the veterans' memorial. In 2002, the United States Postal Service revoked Centralia's ZIP code, 17927.

Dehli's MG Road is also destruction. Once upon a time the road gleamed with shopping malls and furniture stores; but two years ago, the government decided that these were illegal constructions necessary to be sealed. “Sealing” in practice means halfhearted bulldozing — enough to discourage inhabitance while creating the impression that you travel to Gurgaon by way of Beirut.

This place was built by an old arms dealer. He was supposedly 'anti-war' yet he constructed this arsenal to store his excess army surpluses in one of the structures then built a smaller castle to reside in. Some of the materials being stored exploded and destroyed parts of the castle. It became vacant and the elements and humans degraded it to what you see in the pictures

The National Gallery's Enlightening Look at the Opulence and Destruction of 'Pompeii'http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd118/embarchie/thehomeofMarcusLucretiusFronto.jpgIn 1905 Danish painter Josef Theodore Hansen offered up a view of the interior of the home of Marcus Lucretius Fronto. The villa, like many at Pompeii, was richly adorned with mural-filled walls.

The photographs in Asylum were made at the Oregon State Hospital, which was called the Oregon Insane Asylum when it was built in the 1880’s. The images depict rooms in the main building of the facility that have been abandoned since 1965.

urban decay is one of my favourite things! when i was a kid there was this spooky building out in a semi-rural town that gave me nightmares: it was probably 10 stories high, but it had no floors - it was hollow - and it had this huge block-lettered sign at the top saying 'SPACE TO LET'. i didn't know what 'let' meant so i assumed there was an 'i' missing and it was actually SPACE TOIILET. i always got a weird feeling when we drove by. i don't even know if it's still there.

Cherry Knowle Hospital, formerly known as Sunderland Lunatic Asylum was completed in 1895. The site chosen consisted of sloping land outside the village of Ryhope, with views across to the North Sea. Abandoned since around 1998 the site has fell into a serious state of disrepair.
