James Hurley: Harry, Laura talks on her tape about a mystery man.
Sheriff Truman: The red Corvette. Leo Johnson.
James Hurley: I think it was somebody else. Not Jacques Renault either.
Sheriff Truman: Why do you say that?
James Hurley: I never put it together until I heard the tape. Where she says, "This guy can really light my fire." Well, I remember this one night when we first started seeing each other. She was still doing drugs then. Well, we were in the woods when she started saying this scary poem, over and over, about fire.

i never see any sorta famous people. not counting front page newsmakers, of course.

today, however, i became a pseudo-star at work when it was revealed that miss dina martina is a friend of mine.

snow, of course, and how it is affecting arts organizations. my big boss was at my shoulder (no nametag, so she didn't ask him) and i turned to him after i said no and made sure it was ok i said no. "they always go for the negative angle on these stories, i would have said no too." nice vindication.

jergins, Sunday, 21 December 2008 04:07 (fifteen years ago) link

a world in which the news people care about snow affecting arts organizations is like heaven to me! i just can't believe they care! i mean, i love it! but wow!

three weeks pass...

i was in a meeting today with a really interesting woman: "...when Balanchine taught me the lead in Rubies...when I went to Elizabeth Taylor's house...during the occupation, when we were at the academy with no food, still studying ballet...when we taught Gene Kelley...when i receive the Legion of Honor in summer...." Not name-dropping at all, it was more of an interview, an accomplished lady that's lived this amazing life. really cool way to start the day.
