Hi all, thinking of buying Cubase SX3. Does anyone know of a good repository (apart from ebay or P2P) for second hand software of this ilk?

I don't know where you can get such a piece, I just wanted to point out that unless you have a particular need for 1/surround and 2/notation editing, SL3 (which I bought earlier this year) does just about everything, and costs much, much less.

I'd be using it more for recording and similar. I don't know SL3. I'll check into it. Cheers Pash.

Actually would anyone know why when I hit the key on my USB keyboard the keystroke registers in both Reason and Cubase (pir4ted) but the sound doesn't come through for a couple of seconds? Is my soundcard too weak or something? The PC is fairly new but maybe it's not geared up right.

How much RAM do you have?

I'm so ashamed but I can't think of it right now: How do I check my RAM?

you need to lower the buffer settings in cubase and reason. also disable the midi input in whichever program you dont want the keystrokes from the midi controller to goto. google will provide much help with this one.

Thanks, I'm a little bit confused but I'll have a go and see if that helps.

Pash, did you buy your software online or at an acutal shop?

I bought it from a shop, boxed. Seeing as there's a new version of "Cubase" out just recently, there might be some good deals on for SX or SL?

Was that you asking about dx7s amd m1s on SoS forum, BTW?

There are, sorta. People are buying the programs to update for less is what I was told. (xpost)

That wasn't me, I don't know what SoS is!

I really dont know what they could add to cubase to make it anymore functional. There's so much in there that the average user isn't even aware of any more features would actually help you record better music. Though I guess you could try running cubase through a guitar amp.

Most shops send back the old version to the manufacturer once a new edition rolls out, so, not likely.

sumbitch! Well rumours be untrustworthy anyway.

Still having that trouble with player. I've tried settings in cubase and though my output is soundcard as is input I can only use the two generic settings for audiostyle iirc. Help me! I'd prefer to do it here rather than google for you are all like brothers to me. That and I get really bewildered by tech-y sites.
