how to seperate the professionals from the amateurs

or something

That is fucking priceless.

I knew a guy that made a mint selling these hockey puck things that you could place between your components to properly "isolate" them (not from vibration, but from each other, for reasons unknown).

He sold a ton of them. People are idiots.

Wait, that's not a joke?

It hurts the soul.

Promethean Base isolates moderate to heavy loads from sesimic type vibration - especially of the 0 -10 Hz variety produced by Earth's crust movement, traffic, subways, tides, etc.

Earthquakes, too. Don't you hate it when you're laying down a totally massive unrepeatable solo in the studio and then a totally massive earthquake jars your amp in the middle of it, producing a totally embarassing jolt of the reverb chamber? WELL, NO MORE! If you can stay on the chair, then your tasty lix will live forever!

Oddly enough, staying here I saw seven golden bowls make cakes and religion (goo, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:53 (seventeen years ago) link

I've always wondered how I could get the bleed of earthquake rumble into my microphones without also throttling the reverb.

I've often thought of doing something like this.
But I have...scruples.
