the land of flying cubes
is a lonely place
when you're not fully rendered
when you're walking aimlessly
yeah yeah yeah
[make me a real boy]
yeah yeah yeah
[i wanna fly to you]
oh oh oh
[i've lost my way]
oh oh oh
[yeah yeah yeah]
i'll find you
we'll be together
i'll find you
our love will explode
our love will explode
into di-i-i-ia-monds

I forgot which version I have. I guess both? But I don't like the video vocals diva one. Fuck that noise. Ishii peaked in 95-97 anyway, the Flare stuff and Metal Blue America are Number One.

This thread reminded me to go buy the korean version of YMO's 99-00 Best Remixes for the low low price of $14.99 at yesasia.com though, so thanks Jon!

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:19 (nineteen years ago)

Also the rebore he did is pretty dope

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:19 (nineteen years ago)

I also just found a game coming out next month or so in japan called AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER DS

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:23 (nineteen years ago)

ever play the console atc game for unix

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:33 (nineteen years ago)

why would I ever want to do that

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

exactly

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 17:00 (nineteen years ago)

why are you at home chatting with me when you are supposed to be out and about hunting for nintendo products? you should go to penn station and get a round trip ticket to fredericksburg on the carolinian, I hear the big box retailers down there actually have some stock.

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 17:19 (nineteen years ago)

i am procrastinating from taking apart ikea products that have 8 different fastening systems

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

if you don't have a hex head ratcheting screwdriver you might as well throw it all out

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:06 (nineteen years ago)

i have allen key

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

the allen key is the dumbest thing about IKEA, it makes everything 11x harder than it has to be.

when I got my futon frame with hex head screws from somewhere else they actually sent along a hex screwdriver bit, like, hey, we actually expect you to own a tool or two at your house, instead of assuming you're a big college moron with nothing to your name so here's a funny-looking piece of metal that is painful and frustrating for everyone

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:22 (nineteen years ago)

IKEA : allen key :: OS X : Finder

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:24 (nineteen years ago)

If the pocket is deep enough allen keys aren't SO bad, you can get them spinning as long as the working end stays lodged in. Besides, given the quality of IKEA wood products you'd probably strip all the holes at drill speeds.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:36 (nineteen years ago)

jon wouldn't listen when i told him a drill would be too much for his bed to handle!

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

Well, eventually, I guess. I have a set of shelves that I've moved like 4 times and I've broken it all down and bagged up the hardware for every one of 'em. Getting mushy now.

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:42 (nineteen years ago)

i just didn't take anything apart when i moved. it made it very easy :D

i live in a tree fort

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:47 (nineteen years ago)

drill speeds? who the fuck needs a dynamo to build a bed? I'm talking about RATCHETING.

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yeah, I don't have a ratchet set.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 18:59 (nineteen years ago)

they're like $10 people

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:12 (nineteen years ago)

DUDE, I went to the Home Depot in Bay Ridge a couple of weeks ago, the trip is (spottily) chronicled on my flickr pgs...it's relatively nearby but not very accessible w/o car, mostly just cos you have to walk along expressway on-ramps & divided-lane highways with no sidewalks or cross-walks and stuff like that.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

there's a home depot or two in manhattan now.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:31 (nineteen years ago)

or you could just like go to a regular hardware store.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:37 (nineteen years ago)

For ratchets, okay, but I needed Perlite for potting soil and Bklyn hware stoers do not carry in winter-time.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:38 (nineteen years ago)

I am starting to hate the Pintchik on flatbush

at first it was "yay they have everything" but then you realize you have to have someone buzz you in to a locked glass case to get out a 3-cent nail

dmr (dmr), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

i bet that one place near bam with the plants and things has potting soil.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

I have killed two generations of rosemary by leaving them outside during rainstorms in overly rich potting soil, they like it dry and sandy and Mediterranean and I am determined to triumph this time.

Pintchik has let me bring my bike inside, though, to match nut/bolt sizes! Even though it was dripping water on their floor and in the way of other customers, how nice. The locked cases are retarded esp when all employees are too busy to help you.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

Stence, I thought about that place but I've heard it's expensive...?

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

fuck, you're paying for dirt, i dunno how it wouldn't be "expensive" in some sense.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

Phew! Luckily no one asked you to plant anything or to give a shit!

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:54 (nineteen years ago)

oh you need fertilizer too?

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

Are you offering? Because I'd rather go back to on-ramp land.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

WOW I am REALLY avoiding laundry if I'm willing to get into fite with H. Stencil on the internets.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

you guys!!!

TOMB07 (trm), Saturday, 17 February 2007 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

I know the Hamilton Ave. Home Depot well. You should go to the Lowes across the street though, so you don't have to cross underneath the overpass and because they are more helpful in there and less crowded.

Carey (Carey), Saturday, 17 February 2007 20:45 (nineteen years ago)

laurel, how in any way is this fighting? i am just making joeks.

oddly enough, i walked by a hardware store on grand near me in williamsburg and noticed that they had potted soil sitting out for sale.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 21:04 (nineteen years ago)
