John Conyers, congressman, Detroit: Coming on fast. Emerging as a leading black anti-Nixon spokesman. Has known weakness for white females.

[...]

Daniel Schorr, Columbia Broadcasting System, Washington: A real media enemy.

Ha. You think that you'd want to have something like "On Nixon's Enemies List" on your business cards or official bio.

Or perhaps, a free t-shirt.

The expanded DVD for Oliver Stone's "Nixon" should have a scene showing him at his nadir, sitting in a large chair by the fireplace of a darkened room, drink in hand. Flickering shadows dance across his face as he plots a downfall. He schemes a way for Carol Channing to rue the day she ever crossed the path of Dick Nixon.

He eventually falls asleep in his chair, and Pat comes in to drape a blanket over his slumbering form. She gently removes an empty glass from his hand and quietly restoppers the liquor bottle. His features look peaceful for but this instant.
