COOL

1990 you idiots theres no fucking NBA jam. the only three right answers are duck tales, mario 3 (but they came out early in 1990, so you probably have them already), and OUT IN NOVEMBER 1990....

I always liked playing as the Sonics, because they had players with names like Xavier McDaniel and Olden Polynice and Sedale Threatt.

god how i hated that game. my 11-year-old brother and his football buddies would have sleepovers and play that stupid game all night, preventing me from getting thru the 7th dungeon of Zelda.

Sports games are not true video games. I never liked any except on Wii.

Real bros still have these sleepovers, only they buy a keg and bet on the results.

Somehow still the best baseball game ever produced for a console.

you're not kidding. they did this all thru high school and on & off during college when they'd be home for summer vacation. nothing better than 3-4 growing football players eating up the fridge. My mom always enjoyed having them at the house, since she knew where they always were and what they were always up to.

blastocyst what is that screenshot from?

v (sleep), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 21:59 (seventeen years ago) link

What was the baseball game where you could do all those crazy special pitches/hits?

jw (ex machina), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 22:02 (seventeen years ago) link

BASEBALL STARS

69 (pete), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 22:03 (seventeen years ago) link

my neighbor was this jerky kid who played vid games all the time, and he had an entire team of 99's in baseball stars (players with all attributes maxed out - baseball stars was a pretty early "maintain yr own team" game), and he called me and my brother crying once to tell us he had accidentally erased the team. all the other neighbor kids were at our house, and everybody laughed/cheered. in retrospect, it was probably mean, but it felt so right.

That image is a rip from Kirby's Adventure for NES. It's a bunch of backgrounds stuck together.
