4:57 PM, 21 Dec 06 This is just a modern rock song locked user g-kit by Norman Phay (by g-kit's request - work productivity related.)

is it wise to encourage this sort of thing?
i thought ilxors were responsible for exercising their own self-control!

People have been locked out of the board at their own request in the past several times, IIRC. It seemed like a reasonable request to me at the time?

I think maybe you ought to lock kate, marcello and stevem out of the troll thread for their own good as well

I couldn't think of any instances but fair nuff. I'm probably thinking more of when people have asked to be banned from the entire boards and been turned down.

Although that thread is not very long and of little substance so it puzzled me why anyone would want to be locked out of it anyway (and I note Buttez was locked out of it too) so I was just curious if nothing else.

Haha Steve you have no idea the number of times I've been tempted to ban you for your own good.

did we establish if mods could ban other mods on the same board?

The noise board admin log should answer that question. Obv it isn't effective b/c the banned mod could just go to the administer board page & unban themselves?

A bit like the wizard/witch fight in "The sword and the Stone" then.

Is it possible to block a person between 9am and 5pm so they do their work, but can get back on ilx in the evening?

Unfortunately not. I can't think of any way around this, short of sitewide banning a poster's IP, and IP banning is rather sketchy @ the moment (also, work IP may be shared w/other posters, work may use floating IPs etc)

Darnit, I'm going to have to do my new year's resolution the old-fashioned way.
