Hey, I just wanted to say I really quite liked Nick's "Soulseeking" piece in Stylus this week, about the old record collector. Interesting.

This whole thread must be read to the tune of "star trekkin'"

Oh - for a minute there I thought someone was reviving that OTHER s11s**k piece he did awhile back - the very *ahem* controversial one, about which I never could quite decide who's side I was on. Anyway, this latest one I liked a lot too, though the sentence at the end about us being unable to capture our dreams deflated it somewhat for me. It's definitely something many of us give little thought to, though...what will happen to our collections when...?

i bought a dead guy's collection for $400. it was almost 3,000 records.

Records, as in all vinyl?

Is this the thread where I roffle about the guy who tried to queue up 715 files from me at once this morning?

poor dude hit the wrong button and got 'download containing folder', huh? i did that once, queueing 3000 songs. had to uninstall and reinstall to fix it.

No, he was picking and choosing. If he'd gotten the whole folder, it would have been 1800 files.

Me: hahaha, dude, FUCK YOU.
Me: new to slsk?
Him: sorry

I unbanned him after a couple of hours, but he hasn't stuck his head up out of the trenches yet.
