One of the few popular-culture mags I could stand in the last quarter-century. Dang.

That's too bad I guess. I read it a couple of times and as mags go it was decent (esp. cuz it was free.)

OK, I guess they've just been talking about it for a long long time and even had a cover designed but its still never seen the light of day.

Did anyone say anywhere why it's folding? I assume it's money related but is there something else to this? Anyway, that is a bummer. Probably the only music/etc. mag I read religiously. The hippie organic anti-establishment stuff always seemed a little high school to me in a way, (while I also agreed with a lot of it) but like others have stated, nice to see a magazine stand for something for once. I'm a fan of the Douglas Rushkoff column as well, usually a refreshing perspective, though I read his book on business (about getting back in the box) and it also had that high school vibe, like he hasn't ever worked in the environment he intends to change. A little soapboxish. But the nonconformist ideas are there and worth a thought, and that to me is worth something. There was a piece on traveling in Syria not too long ago that was great, made me want to go there.
