yeah, it's basically unsold warehouse product. stuff that didn't sell. they sell it to stores for basically nothing just to get rid of it. i've found plenty of gold in the cut-out bins over the years.

Somedays it seems that half my collection is cut-outs. That and its one of the few ways to get sealed LPs from the 80s (all my SST LPs have just small little cuts, barely noticable so its more than all right).

But some places take a gigantic chunk of the corner of the sleeve. That irritates me...

when the hmv store opened in philly they had boxes and boxes of dollar records just like the old days! tons of 80's metal. i couldn't believe it. i think a lot of it was old caroline distro stuff. of cabbages and kings. live skull. i got a ton of stuff. after it was all gone the store descended into shittiness and finally closed.
