Whirled music is whatever you say it is, but its mostly stuff that's not in English. You know, "world music." I'm liking the new Giberto Gil acoustic effort. Yea, its not as nice as hearing him with a band, but he chirps some nice melodies on his own.

US tour in March. Jorge Drexler's not bad on the singer/songwriter front either (not sure if he writes all his own songs though).

Can't make my mind up about Tania Libertad. Too mannered sometimes, but not other times.

I exchanged a bunch of e-mails with Wayne Marshall while writing a Calle 13 cover story for the May Global Rhythm, and some of them made it into the final piece.

I should stop being cheap and a buy a copy of Global Rhythm (I was not crazy about it under a prior editor). I always want to see what's in an issue when I see it at Borders, but it's always wrapped in plastic (a sampler cd sometimes/always enclosed).

I always mess up doing italics.
