2 Bad Mice

I recently stumbled across "Strip Search" again while sorting through my music. I find it to be fucking brilliant. This, of course, reminded me of their many other outstanding tracks and led me to wonder if these guys ever released anything bad; I'm hard-pressed to think of anything. Their sense of bass and rhythm clicks almost completely with all of my "GET UP AND DANCE, MOTHAFUCKA" signifiers and, when I think back on 90s hardcore acts, they are way up on my list of unassailable geniuses.

I'm mostly starting this thread to remind everyone that 2 Bad Mice were fucking excellent; there isn't really an agenda past that.

The only thing that's vaguely ropey is "Shooby Corner" from the Moving Shadow 2 on 1 series (discounting, of course, all the later remixes for re-releases of Bomscare which are predictably pish). Their remix of "Future sound" by Phuture Assassins is an utter triumph.

that Kaotic Chemistry LP is one of the more consistent rave/hardcore full-lengths..."Bombscare", "Waremouse", "2 Bad Mice Take You", this thing never quits...

this compilation is probably in the top 5 best CD case designs i've seen in my life.

the music's nice too, although i never really felt like 2 bad mice necessarily stood out so much from the rest of the suburban base stable. maybe in consistency, but i don't think the high points are so amazing compared to hype or danny breakz or hyper-on experience or d'cruze or cloud 9 or q bass or or or ...

put it another way, i have listened to my "history of hardcore" comps probably 100x as much as the 2 bad mice comp.
