It's good.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 17 February 2007 00:52 (seventeen years ago) link

I quite like it. Very poppy.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Saturday, 17 February 2007 02:16 (seventeen years ago) link

Please, he's a serious dramatic actor now. James Carrey.

Easily my favorite BR album since La Mia Vita Violenta

Joshua Glazer (yussel), Saturday, 17 February 2007 04:52 (seventeen years ago) link

wonderful, very up-tempo, shoe-gazey at times, their albums are usually growers for me, but this has been very immediate so far....

el juan (el juan), Saturday, 17 February 2007 12:43 (seventeen years ago) link

The classic 4AD records style sound is also very nice

john lang (emekars), Saturday, 17 February 2007 12:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Apparently, Alan Moulder did some/all the production? Nice.

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Saturday, 17 February 2007 13:26 (seventeen years ago) link

self-produced, alan moulder did mix some of it tho.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Saturday, 17 February 2007 16:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Very nice album. More consistently interesting than Misery is a Butterfly.

Turangalila (Turangalila), Sunday, 18 February 2007 00:16 (seventeen years ago) link

if it's better than 'misery...' i will be hugely impressed. looking very much forward regardless

charminator (charminator), Monday, 19 February 2007 07:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Well, it's not Misery is a Butterfly pt. 2, which is a good thing, imo. The nice dramatic chords are still there, but this is synthier & much poppier.

Turangalila (Turangalila), Monday, 19 February 2007 14:56 (seventeen years ago) link

Misery felt a little too floaty/gauzy for me. I'm hoping the new one restores the spikiness of their older material.
