Both classic interpretations of a standard. Both arguably the definitive version of the standard. Now as much as I love London's Cry Me A River I have to admit that Baker's cover is just downright magic. It's one of those songs that I can listen to over and over again and I'll always notice some little nuance that gives me new enjoyment. So he gets the nod.

What say you, sandbox?

I've heard plenty of excellent versions of "Cry Me A River" other than London's, but no version of "MFV" even comes close to Baker's. So Baker.

There are plenty of other Julie London songs I prefer to "Cry Me A River" but "My Funny Valentine" seems like a career peak for the vocal side of Chet. This doesn't really answer the question though.

Did they ever sing each other's signature song?

London sang MFV, but I'm not sure if Baker sang CMAR.
