Amazed they actually got anything done!

Wow, cheap as fuck too! But what ever happened to that Tangerine Dream box? That never appeared, did it?

Hang on to your CD copies of "The Marble Index" though - the versions of the bonus tracks on it are totally different to the ones on this new release.

I've been listening to "Desertshore" a lot recently, I love that album

The Tangerine Dream box did come out, yes, if you mean the early days one.

I don't have a credit card, so no use to me, has to be in the shops, innit

Tom D. (Dada), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:31 (seventeen years ago) link

What a fuggin' bargain tho!!!

Tom D. (Dada), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:31 (seventeen years ago) link

That's RIDICULOUS, that price.

I spent too much time in my late teens listening to the early Virgin TD stuff; I know this is supposedly "better" but I don't think I'll bother. An ex-girlfriend once sent me Phaedra on CD-R because "you once said you regretted selling the vinyl" and it made me feel quite ill. You can't go back.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:00 (seventeen years ago) link

That's my favourite period!

Tom D. (Dada), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:02 (seventeen years ago) link

God, I'm such a sucker for Nico. Even though she a has a few albums I'm not all that crazy about.

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 15:36 (seventeen years ago) link

Weird that they didn't include 'The End' on that value-package. The last thing I need is a bunch of harmonium demos of Nico tunes, that I'll probably never listen to, but count me in as another sucker who'll lap it up nonetheless.

baaderonixx (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 15:41 (seventeen years ago) link

"The End" was on Island, I imagine that's why

Tom D. (Dada), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:04 (seventeen years ago) link

I am totally going to get this.

The T Dream box set is not as "nice" as the individual CDS of the albums - it's those super-slim cases and generic sleeves, and there is a pre-T Dream single on it that doesn't really fit. I mean, I know you can program it out, but as a demented perfectionist it ruins my day.

Funnily enough, I sold those earlier CDs and thought I regretted it, but I never listen to this box set (apart from the single I have just slagged off for being there).

Anyway, that ex-girlfriend sounds like a right nutjob, Michael.
