it wz sort of sad when he turned out 2 b an angsty ethnic christianofascist & now at his website http://www.sullee.com/sullee.html he drops 30 second track fragments w/glossy beats, mediocre flow, weird questionable content, a few gr8 punchlines, aight choruses, a female-hooked joe budden track, one featuring slash, & an awesome imprint called Old South End Records that looks like the subgenius logo. n.e.wayz u could call him & try to reason out his antisemitism / cultural xenophobia/anxiety. GOOD LUCK SULLY AND WAY TO FUCK THAT SLUT.

an angsty ethnic christianofascist?

somehow i missed this?

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 15:56 (seventeen years ago) link

I love how he makes it sound like he "voluntarily left" as though his ass wasn't getting dropped either way.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 16:41 (seventeen years ago) link

well his rap was better than jon boy's! and shit jon boy just copied his bullshit "i don't wanna snitch" excuse. serch shoulda kicked that loser off too.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 16:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Jon Boy WAS kicked off last week, right? Or did I merely imagine that?!

edb (edb), Monday, 12 February 2007 17:57 (seventeen years ago) link

i dunno, i just watched the episode where sullee quit on my friend's tivo saturday night. i don't have cable.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 17:57 (seventeen years ago) link

Jon Boy did get kicked off.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 18:01 (seventeen years ago) link

way to spoil it, dude. j/k, i hope to watch all the episodes even tho it's clear that serch has a boner for persia.

just before that challenge, serch told the three of 'em that if they all sucked, they'd get kicked off. he shoulda followed up with that thread by kicking jon boy off too, since john brown was the only one who did it right and well.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 18:10 (seventeen years ago) link

that's exactly what he did...

mikebee (bizzle), Monday, 12 February 2007 18:27 (seventeen years ago) link

uh, hrm, okay, the tivo thing just ended before the credits so sheesh i missed it? sucks.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 18:36 (seventeen years ago) link

You can watch it on vspot, stence. I haven't seen an episode on TV.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 18:37 (seventeen years ago) link

sounds dirty.

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah I was gratified that basically all the shittiest rappers are now gone. the only people left are those that can actually rhyme fairly consistently.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

i hope that jus rhyme is going home tonight.

edb (edb), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:11 (seventeen years ago) link

I hope he goes home REALLY entertainingly too.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:18 (seventeen years ago) link

HAS ANYONE CALLED SULLEE YET?

edb (edb), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:35 (seventeen years ago) link

there is no way jus rhyme can do anything "entertainingly"

Tyrone Slothrop (Tyrone Slothrop), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:48 (seventeen years ago) link

but i'll bet he goes home earnestly!

edb (edb), Monday, 12 February 2007 20:00 (seventeen years ago) link

"there is no way jus rhyme can do anything "entertainingly""

Not intentionally that's for sure!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 20:28 (seventeen years ago) link

His departure would be an injustice.

MIles Deep (Miles Deep), Monday, 12 February 2007 20:36 (seventeen years ago) link

You guys saw the previews right? Looks like the whole JB/Persia fued is going to reignite, and they're going to piss off some radio show hosts somehow. Looks like the Persia-on-a-stretcher thing might happen tonight, too.

I hope Jus Rhyme getting booted somehow works its way into all that too though.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Monday, 12 February 2007 21:23 (seventeen years ago) link

Weirdly they don't show previews on vspot.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 21:28 (seventeen years ago) link

Ohmigod Jus Rhymes 15 principles or whatever is hysterical.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 21:32 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha watching Bushwick Bill do the Jerry Lewis is aces.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 12 February 2007 21:34 (seventeen years ago) link

hohoho man that hot 97 shit was painful. major chokage all around, and then JB brought up clear channel and got kicked out!

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 03:15 (seventeen years ago) link

aw fuck Jus Rhyme won the challenge. Persia nearly dropped dead because they made her run up a hill.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 03:37 (seventeen years ago) link

'and, like, i have never been in an elimination...' 'WE KNOW JUS!!!!'

and what (ooo), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 03:47 (seventeen years ago) link

oooh hold up Jus Rhyme is not exempt from elimination even though he won. this could be it...

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 03:52 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha they just made that rule up.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 03:55 (seventeen years ago) link

too bad Persia fucked up her verse AGAIN. That sucked, she's out. You can tell they really wanted to get rid of Jus instead. Prince Paul on Jus Rhyme: "Mad corny."

Next week they go to Detroit to hang with ICP and Kid Rock. Uhhh...

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:02 (seventeen years ago) link

best line from this ep:

Jus Rhyme: "As Roger told me, gold is in."

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:08 (seventeen years ago) link

hohoho man that hot 97 shit was painful

I don't know which was worse: this or the awkward N.O.R.E. dinner.

C0L1N B... (C0L1N B...), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:09 (seventeen years ago) link

Hot 97 was way worse. Miss Jones was fucking angry at JB, and everyone that called in dissed the hell out of them. N.O.R.E. was just like, "Whatever."

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:14 (seventeen years ago) link

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO PERSIA!

I'm heartbroken.

horseshoe (horseshoe), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 07:01 (seventeen years ago) link

Not only did she quit, but even the stuff she did remember had no heart. The words were good, but her delivery made her sound defeated. There's no way she could have beat JB or Sham in that Ice Ice Box setting. I guess she went home a week early, but she wasn't going to win.

Jus Rhyme's Godfather prank on JB was pretty great and almost made me like him for a second.

Michael (Oakland Mike), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 07:08 (seventeen years ago) link

FLUSHIN'

edb (edb), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:40 (seventeen years ago) link

my favorite line was either john brown's "i'm not even a rapper, but i can remember my lines"

or

jus rhymes' "i RODE the cart halfway, to conserve energy."

edb (edb), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:09 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't even follow what John Brown was trying to say about Clear Channel.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:30 (seventeen years ago) link

argh I only caught the end of this episode, just in time to see Persia kicked off. bah.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:32 (seventeen years ago) link

who was the guest? (Serch made some reference to Humpty?!)

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:33 (seventeen years ago) link

N.O.R.E. and Saigon.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:34 (seventeen years ago) link

Jus Rhyme in the Thug competition was great! 3 minutes and 41 seconds seems very very impressive!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 17:05 (seventeen years ago) link

so it looks like next week is the predicted/dreaded 8-Mile-style battle rap...?

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 17:14 (seventeen years ago) link

8-Mile-style battle rap

except for it's RIGHT ON 8 MILE for MAXIMUM CRINGE

DO NOT WALK IN HERE WACK

edb (edb), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 18:42 (seventeen years ago) link

If Jus Rhyme wins (which he won't), will it help or hurt his cred on the grad school whiteness studies conference circuit?

vermonter (vermonter), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 19:02 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't imagine that Shamrock won't win now, although to be honest I like that John Brown seems to have succeeded in completely driving everyone in the house to distraction (and in Persia's case to breakdown.)

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 19:14 (seventeen years ago) link

John Brown = retarded genius!

edb (edb), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 19:51 (seventeen years ago) link

Sham needs to win.

OMGMarcosDiosMio (mucho), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 20:12 (seventeen years ago) link

Six minutes of exercise sends Persia to the hospital.

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 20:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I think a Sham vs. JB battle could be quite entertaining.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver (hoosteen), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 20:37 (seventeen years ago) link

Well if the show is gonna be 50 minutes of dicking around and a 10 minute elimination challenge, I think the rest of the series seems pretty obvious:

Next Ep: Jus Rhyme blows his elimination challege by insisting on being Jus Rhyme

Final Ep: Jon Brown and $hamrock go head to head and $ham crushes him like a grape. Serch is extra mean to JB before he tells him to step off.

Reunion Show: "I was robbed. Hallelujah hollaback!"

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 20:51 (seventeen years ago) link

whiney otm

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 21:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Seriously, I think Serch wanted to keep Persia so bad because without her, there's no more competition.

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 21:08 (seventeen years ago) link

$hamrock's freestyle at Hot 97 would have impressed everyone if he remembered the name of the radio station.

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 21:09 (seventeen years ago) link

If the winner is determined by a rap battle, Shamrock should win. But if it involves rapping about a topic, I can see John Brown still winning. He knows how to play the game, so I wouldn't count him out. Should be an interesting final.

stingy (stingewell), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 21:30 (seventeen years ago) link

it sucked that he messed up the name of the station, because his freestyle was way better then anyone elses.

dan selzer (dan selzer), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 22:24 (seventeen years ago) link

The thing is John Brown has said himself that he's not a rapper, but like an entity or franchise or something. He's already "won": he's gotten publicity and been on tv for a bit and all that shit, which is exactly what he set out to do.

RIYL Christiane F. (drowned in milk), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 08:39 (seventeen years ago) link

Jus better go home tonight. A Jus vs. JB or $ham final would be a joke.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 01:50 (seventeen years ago) link

They're setting things up like $ham's in trouble: "I don't freestyle much." "Battling's not my thing." Uh oh.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 03:25 (seventeen years ago) link

hahahahahaha $ham choked and they still sent Jus home.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 04:02 (seventeen years ago) link

"I just lost my fellowship money...workers of the world, unite!"

edb (edb), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 13:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Jus was terrible. That was utterly painful to watch.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 17:28 (seventeen years ago) link

All those Detroit dudes were unstoppable.

John Brown is going to win.

Michael (Oakland Mike), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 17:28 (seventeen years ago) link

I love Jus's idea of a dis "yo, you totally work for the feds! is that a wire you narc?"

dan selzer (dan selzer), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 17:38 (seventeen years ago) link

THE John Brown walked the same steps of St. Andrew's Hall where, roughly ten years ago, my then-future wife and I had a moment? Someone pinch me.

"Even the vegetables taste good."

Welcome to Detr... er, Clarkston, er, Rochester, er, Royal Oak.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 23:05 (seventeen years ago) link
