French Funk S/D

So allmusic lists Blue Eyed/Brown Eyed/Latin Soul & Funk, but doesn't have shit on the French. I've been listening to/reading up on Sinclar a lot and a search for French Funk on eBay screams "niche market." Can anyone recommend any Gotta Haves or books on the subject?

I've actually been trying to pick up an OG of that Gainsbourg LP on eBay for a hot minute now, but it always spirals out of my price range. Just did a quick check and its at about $60, which I can knock in a pinch, but there's still half a day left in the auction!
