I finally heard it after buying a cheapo used copy last night. Sounds pretty good so far, but I'd like to know what people who've heard it more than twice think about it.

First guy to post the Spin review etc., etc.

best producing ever

Funny I've been thinking lately that I really want to hear this. In fact, this is something I should have looked for at Tower. (I'm sure it was gone as soon as it was 5% off knowing how things went at ridiculously high prices here.)

I had been looking for it ever since Extraordinary Machine came out, but every time I thought to look for it all they had in the shop was EM and Tidal. Happened upon it in a used book shop last night. The production is great and there are some tight rhythms, "Fast As You Can" is the jam.

I really like it. Shame about the out-of-tuneness of the last song, which is otherwise rather pretty. "Love Ridden" totally makes up for it, though.

The production on the album is kind of all over the place, but it works especially well on the first two tracks. I think "Tidal" has aged better as an album, however.

Destroy: the released version of "Extraordinary Machine." Its only redeeming quality is the weird, pastoral version of "Red Red Red" and the untouched "Waltz."

when the pawn is a terrific album, imo. definitely as solid as tidal.

production is great - A Mistake, for ex. and the last song sounds beautiful to me.
