Thanks for the pic tip.

I'm already pretty certain this will be the best album of 2007.

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:11 (seventeen years ago) link

You know it's weird but the guitar sound on "Let's Get Out" made me think of horns in a way...as though that part could be done with horns.

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:23 (seventeen years ago) link

This is great news. Will buy.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:26 (seventeen years ago) link

Has anyone ever heard "Liberty Feelup?" The prospect of having a LWB that's "new" is almost as exciting as the album itself.

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:28 (seventeen years ago) link

have you already got the aussie single and the prince cover?

electric sound of jim (electric sound of jim), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:41 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, I've got everything that was done in the studio as far as I know (14 tracks, not counting alternate single/album versions of songs).

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:46 (seventeen years ago) link

I know! I know! A NEW SONG! oh my gucking fod

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:52 (seventeen years ago) link

I've never heard it. I just have Any Other City.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:54 (seventeen years ago) link

(which Prince song?)

Marmot (marmotwolof), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:55 (seventeen years ago) link

"Pop Life"

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:58 (seventeen years ago) link

"Pop Life" -- which honestly is my favorite thing by them. I admit I am pretty neutral about this band, even sold the album back.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 December 2006 05:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Ned, have you had the chance to hear "Love Trinity?"

Johnny Fever (johnnyfever), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:00 (seventeen years ago) link

love trinity is definitely their pinnacle. wonderful song, should have been released a little more widely than australia

electric sound of jim (electric sound of jim), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:09 (seventeen years ago) link

Playing Love Trinity now. It was like the comedown. The tragic end of the love affair. God, they were perfect. Just perfect.

Someone point me to it, then. (I am currently plowing through far too many random Myspace invites.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:14 (seventeen years ago) link

Jesus, I'd like to help you man but I haven't even ripped it to my computer yet. This could take awhile.

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:23 (seventeen years ago) link

Thank yer. *listens* Hmm, it is a lot prettier than I remember anything off the album being, yeah. But one song is one song, not the holy grail.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:37 (seventeen years ago) link

In an iTunes world, man, it's nice to hear someone say that.

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Sunday, 31 December 2006 06:41 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm so accustomed now to hearing it within the context of the album (instead of the original cd, I listen to a burned version with all 14 songs they issued). When "Love Trinity" shows up at the end, it sort of puts a more detailed perspective on everything that comes before it. I really wonder what they could've done with a second record.

I never did get that australian single. it's great. the second recod would have been incredible.

Jesus Christ, that 'Love Trinity' song is beautiful; I've probably played it 50 times since you posted it, Johnny - thanks a lot. I am going to seek out the album.
