So I've discovered this vocal technique that's changing my life. I've started singing in such a way that makes my stomach feel good. That must sound completely ridiculous but it's been fascinating me. It's almost like how sometimes you have to moan when you're sick - it makes you feel better somehow - only I'm not sick.
Sometimes it's just what I need to do, either for musical or personal purposes. First of all, it actually feels *really* good physically. There are times when I'll just make all these gutteral noises to make myself feel better about something. I mean, by myself. Second, when my voice isn't working, sometimes this really helps me sing passionately and with strong tone. I guess "gutteral" would be the way to put it so you could have a clue as to what the hell I'm talking about. Gutteral voice. Kate Bush does it a lot on The Dreaming, but it doesn't have to be as wrenched as that.
Anyone getting this at all? I'm curious to see if this is some bizarre thing no one does or not. I think I'm headed for the microphone soon...
