My dad just got back from a trip to Brazil and gave me a few cds of Brazilian rap for Christmas. They are as follows:
Marcelo D2 - MTV Acustico
MV Bill - Falcao: O Bagulho e Doido
Rappin' Hood - Em Sujeito Homen
I haven't listened to MV Bill yet. Marcelo Acustico is pretty good, it's pretty much early nineties boom-bap mixed w/ lots of things imported from more traditional Brazilian musics. Rappin' Hood, with a couple exceptions, stays within the bounds of American hiphop, but still jumps around between a bunch of different styles.
So I guess this can become an all-purpose thread for Brazilian hiphop, funk carioca, etc.
